Ha, I finally got a chance today to go to Future Shop -- I've been wanting to go there for about a month now, and my list of stuff to get there just kept getting longer...
I bought myself the Special Edition Romeo + Juliet DVD that was released March 12, and also got the Paint Shop Pro 7 Anniversary Edition program that I've been trying to track down for at least a year. Yay :)
Also bought birthday presents for Susan and my brother -- it was nice to be able to accomplish (a.k.a. buy) so much all in one store. :)
Hmm. With the PSP7 my bill was a little large, but it's the cheapest I've been able to find it for so I'm happy about that.
Right, I should probably mention the whole Formal shindig I went to on Friday. It was nice (my vocabulary is deplorable) to see everyone dressed up and it was weird to see myself dressed up. Took approximately 17 pictures in total -- hope they come out okay...
I also just wanted to say how happy I am that Angel is back on now after a 5-week hiatus *sighs*. Now it's on every week until the end of the season... :D
Dark Angel has a new episode on this Friday and Roswell is back this week too :D but it is being cancelled and the series finale will be on May 14 :( :( .
Buffy will be back next week (FINALLY...why the hell do they make us wait for so long? *begins to whine quietly but plaintively*)
Television rocks. Too bad I don't ever actually have time to watch anything until Fridays, when I fit in as many of my shows as possible...
Just thought I would update so as not to get Sabrina-itis and not update for a loooooooooooooong time (*nudge nudge*)...
Uh, so...what's new? Um, I got my acceptance at McMaster University today -- I don't know when the science people are supposed to hear (Sabs, Suzq -- I assume you haven't heard yet?), but hopefully it will be soon. :)
So...now I've been accepted at York, U of T and McMaster; still waiting on Queen's but I'm think I'm doing pretty well for myself...
Now if only I can keep my marks up (and maybe starting and finishing my English ISU would be good, too) I'll be okay.
Well I've finally finished reading Bridget Jones's Diary so I'm making progress on my reading list...or maybe it's not real progress because I'm only going to replace it with its sequel, The Edge Of Reason. :)
Well maybe I'll go pretend to do some work.
- Great Expectations, Charles Dickens
- The Edge Of Reason, Helen Fielding
- Spadework, Timothy Findley
- Catch-22, Joseph Heller
- Lives of Girls And Women, Alice Munro
- Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage, Alice Munro
- 1984, George Orwell
- The Manticore, Robertson Davies
- World Of Wonders, Robertson Davies
- Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, J.K. Rowling (U)
So There Are Others Like Me Out There...In the So-Called Real World...
Okay, following my mom's suggestion I just checked out the website of the University of Waterloo's Buffy Watchers Club. It's crazy. They have meetings every Tuesday (The schedule is 8-9: Watch Buffy, 9-10: Watch Angel, 10-10:15: Club Meeting, 10:15-?: Replay episodes) and "emergency meetings" that can be called as well (what there can be emergencies about, I can't even imagine)... I urge you to visit the club website to see the insanity first hand.
I also searched the U of T site...where I printed a sample cover letter and résumé, using Buffy's name and "qualifications" as an example. You can see those here and here. It's crazy. Seriously. And coming from a crazy person, that can't be good....
On the Queen's site there were quite a few slides from presentations that used the name of Buffy people, again for example purposes. It's insane but I was kind of excited to see that there are Others out there...
*laughs* Okay. Well I just realized that I'm actually not all that far gone [yet] and so maybe it's not quite time for me to continue on with the next step of "The 13 Steps to Beating that Buffy Addiction" (this is an actual sheet that I printed from a website). I don't have an addiction. I'm FINE. I'm completely okay. Nothing to worry about. I don't even really need TV. *wavers* All right, okay, I admit it. I so need a TV with cable and a VCR or I'm not going to university.....
Oh, Look, Blogger is Finally Working...So Here's an Entry Published 2 Days Late...
Figured I should add more to the "About Me" section (look left) so I re-created the infamous alphabetized list of my favorite movies. Yes, I'm nuts. Yes, I know that I'm nuts. Yes, you wouldn't want me any other way...
Okay, does anyone (riiight...the whole one person who ever actually reads this) remember me saying earlier that the snow here in Canada was beautiful?
Screw that. It's APRIL, for God's sake! WHY IS THERE SNOW OUTSIDE?!?!
Although...Canada does still rock. I mean, it's not Hawaii or anything...but there's nowhere else I'd rather live (or maybe I just think that because I've never lived anywhere else...)
Do I happen to have an mp3 of a song that you want? Check my list here and see if there's anything you need. Send me your e-mail address and state the song you want and I'll send the mp3 to you using YouSendIt.com, SendThisFile.com or SendSpace. :)
Music I need
There are the mp3s I'm looking for. If you have any of these and wouldn't mind sharing it with me, please use YouSendIt.com, SendThisFile.com or SendSpace to send it to me at verbatim119[at]gmail.com. Thanks much! :D
